As the university continues working to restore access to all web-based services following a cyber incident this spring, this temporary website provides access to university academics, stories, and services. Canvas Outage
We have recently noted that Canvas by Instructure has become unavailable in what appears to be a nationwide outage affecting thousands of institutions.
WNMU is actively monitoring all services and is actively working with our third-party security services to keep our environment as secure as possible from potential threats.
As part of our response, we have also blocked traffic to Canvas by Instructure on our network and the university's public website as a precautionary step while we wait for confirmed information from Canvas by Instructure.
The timing of this outage is affecting assignment submissions, grading, grade submission, and access to some university forms housed in Canvas by Instructure. We will be posting updates on our Status Page in Mustang Express as well as sending follow up emails to students, faculty, and staff regarding how end-of-term events will be handled if a resolution from Canvas by Instructure is not forthcoming before grades are due on Monday the 11th.
Out of an abundance of caution, WNMU recommends that Canvas users be cautious of phishing attempts, especially those that use your name, email, and/or student ID – especially those messages that have a sense of urgency.
WNMU will not send you links asking you to enter your password or multi-factor authentication codes. You will only see login prompts when you access an official WNMU site or service, such as Mustang Express, Banner, or Mail.
